We are proud to announce Midlothian ISD once again had a strong showing at the Regional School Bus Safety Poster Contest hosted by the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation (TAPT). Students from several MISD campuses submitted posters with their interpretation of this year's theme, “My Bus Driver - My Safety Hero!”
Posters were first judged at the district level by MISD Transportation employees. The top 5 in each category were forwarded to Regionals, held on March 2, at the North Texas Association of Pupil Transportation (NTAPT) monthly meeting in Royse City. Once again, Midlothian ISD had the largest number of winners overall at the Regional level. In the three years MISD has participated, students have swept Regionals.
All first place winners from the Regional TAPT contest will advance to the state competition in June. Voting will be open to all TAPT members present at the conference. State level winners will be announced in July. First place will receive a monetary scholarship and these posters will be placed on display in the State Capitol in Austin during School Bus Safety Week in October.
From there, it’s on to Nationals!
Pictured below are the Regional winners from Midlothian ISD. Congratulations to all participants on a job well done. We are proud of the outstanding students and art teachers at MISD.
