Election and Voting Information

  •  Trustee Election, May 2, 2020 

    Midlothian ISD along with the City of Midlothian and Ellis County entities hosting a May election will contract with Ellis County Elections Office for the May 2, 2020 Election. 


    Candidate Workshop

    In an effort to provide prospective candidates an opportunity to dialogue with Trustees regarding the role and responsibility of Board Members, a Candidate Workshop has been scheduled for February 10th from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the L.A. Mills Administration Building, Midlothian, Texas 76065. 




    Notice of Deadline to File for the May 2, 2020 Election


    Local Election Filing Period is:

    • January 15, 2020 - February 14, 2020
    • Midlothian ISD Administration office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, except on February 14, 2020 the office will close at 5:00 p.m.


    Early Voting Dates and Times are:

    • April 20-24, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    • April 27-28, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.


Board of Trustee Elections

  • According to policy, Midlothian Independent School District holds an election each year for the selection of Trustees.  By law, Midlothian is subject to conducting a joint election with a local entity such as the City of Midlothian and/or Ellis County Elections Administration for each election and must facilitate the Trustee Election on a uniform election date in either May or November.  Midlothian holds elections in May of each year.

    Based upon policy BBB (LOCAL) - SCHEDULE OF ELECTIONS, Trustees shall be elected by position or place for three-year terms with elections held annually, as indicated below:


    Places 1, 2, and 3

    The election for places 1, 2, and 3 shall be held in 2018, 2021, 2024, and in three-year intervals thereafter.


    Places 4 and 5

    The election for places 4 and 5 shall be held in 2019, 2022, 2025, and in three-year intervals thereafter.


    Places 6 and 7

    The election for places 6 and 7 shall be held in 2020, 2023, 2026, and in three-year intervals thereafter.


    In line with the schedule and policy, Positions 6 and 7 are up for election on May 2, 2020.
