At Ford, we are committed to making a positive difference in the communities and neighborhoods where we operate. We are delighted to inform you that we at Waxahachie Ford have selected Midlothian High School to participate in the Ford Driving Dreams scholarship program for graduating seniors at your high school. We have selected your school to receive 1 guaranteed scholarship worth $2,000 each.
Please encourage your students to apply online before the application deadline on February 14. Please see the attached Ford Driving Dreams Flyer containing all qualification requirements and deadlines. Qualifying Midlothian High School seniors who apply will only be competing against each other for the scholarship award(s) and not the entire North Texas area, making their odds even greater!
Scholarship applications are open until February 9 at CLICK HERE FOR WEBSITE. On the website the application can be accessed by clicking the APPLY button under APPLY FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS and then selecting the North Texas option in the green box. Ford dealer-selected high schools are listed on the application website and can be accessed on the dropdown menu after students select “Yes” for all the eligibility requirements. Refer to the table below for important dates to remember during this year’s scholarship program.

This scholarship is to assist a graduate of an Ellis County ISD High School with college expenses. Student must enroll in an accredited college.
Two (2) Scholarship and Amount:
The scholarship will be awarded to the recipient upon completion of registration in an accredited college. The scholarship will be issued in the amount of $1,000.00 and will be payable at $500 per semesters of his/hers freshman year.
Guidelines for Eligibility:
- The student must be a 2018 graduate of an Ellis County ISD High School.
- The student must be in the top 25% of his/her class.
- The student must take either the SAT or ACT; copy of student’s score must be included with the application
- The student must submit an application and autobiography (as described below).
THE AWARD WILL BE FOR 2 - $1000.00 AWARDS AND WILL BE PAID AS $500 FOR EACH SEMESTER AFTER MEETING REQUIREMENTS.

A $250 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who meets the following
*Senior at an Ellis County high school
*Attend a college in the fall of 2018
*Plan to pursue a degree in some course of study involving textiles,
such as Interior Design, Costume Design, Fashion Design, Marketing field
related to textiles, Education field related to textiles
*Submit a high school transcript
*Complete the following form
*Submit two letters of recommendation – one from a teacher and one
from a community member
*Submit a typewritten essay of 300-400 words

2018 oxyGEN Scholarship - DUE: FEBRUARY 28, 2018To encourage and promote incoming college students interested in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field by providing a one-time monetary scholarship to the applicants who appropriately meet the criteria below and as selected by the designated oxyGEN scholarship committee. All applicants who meet the criteria and deadline will be considered, regardless of major or area of study. The number and value of scholarships awarded each year will vary based on the number of quality applicants received and the funds available.
- DEADLINE for scholarship applications is February 28th, 2018 11:59 pm ET. This deadline will not be extended.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Recipients will be notified by April 16th.

DALLAS MAVERICKS/CENTURY 21 SCHOLARSHIP - DUE: FEBRUARY 23, 2018
The Dallas Mavericks, Harrison Barnes and Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc. have teamed up to present the 8th annual Dallas Mavericks Scholarship Program to DFW Metroplex high school seniors in financial need. Seniors will have the opportunity to apply for one (1) of four (4) $5,000 scholarships.
ELIGIBILITY & DETAILS:
High school seniors must attend a high school within 75-miles of the American Airlines Center, attend a two- or four-year college or university in the fall of their completed senior year, need financial assistance, be in good academic standing, a legal US resident and complete an essay answering
“What is the most important lesson you have learned up to this point and how will you apply that lesson moving forward?”
“What does attending college mean to you?”
Entry must include:
- Mavs Scholarship Application Form
- Essay answering: “What is the most important lesson you have learned up to this point and how will you apply that lesson moving forward?” OR “What does attending college mean to you?”
- Three (3) letters of recommendation referencing academic and community status – two (2) must come from teachers and/or administrators
- A 2016, 2017 or 2018 copy of the IRS Form 1040 filed by his or her parent(s) or guardian(s) used to document total income
- A copy of high school transcript that contains student’s class rank
- College acceptance letter(s) (if already accepted)
- Completed Student Information/Release and Authorization Form included in Mavs Scholarship Application Packet
ESSAYS DUE: Friday, February 23, 2018
All entries must be received by the Dallas Mavericks no later than 5:00 pm CT on Friday, February 23, 2018.
Postmarked entries will not be accepted. Winners will be notified on or before Friday, March 2, 2018 7:00 CT and at that time be given specific award details and game night recognition information.
