We are so happy you are here at HHS this year. In order to maximize your high school experience, we want each of you to get involved. We have countless sports, clubs, and organizations for you to join. View the "Clubs" tab at the top of the Heritage website to see what may interest you, then talk to the club sponsor to get plugged in.

If you don't see a club that interests you, start your own! See Mrs. Tipton to get a 'New Club Form' and find a teacher to sponsor you. Remember, at HHS, we value you and your unique strengths and interests!

Tips & Tools

  • TASSEL:

Each day, students have mid-day tutoring, called TASSEL. During TASSEL, students have the freedom to visit with any of their teachers to get help with their coursework. It is very important to utilize this time to get help from teachers or to work on school work in the common areas in the lobby.

Students with A lunch go to B TASSEL. Students with B lunch go to A TASSEL. TASSEL is about 30 minutes long.

    Community Service:

By the time you graduate, you will need to have logged 10 hours of community service that was completed within the four years you were at Heritage. You may start logging these hours now. Check out the "Resources" tab to the left and select "Community Service." There, you will see some suggestions for where you could complete service hours. Be sure to print a community service form, get it signed by your non-parent supervisor, then turn the form into your counselor.

Remember, most anything that is non-paid, non-required, and takes place outside of the school day may count toward your community service requirement.

    Naviance:

It's never too early to start thinking about your future. Not sure what you want to do once you graduate? Use Naviance to complete interest inventories to find out which careers match your personality and given strengths. Click the "College" tab on the left to view more details on Naviance. Counselors are utilizing this tool on a regular basis via closed TASSEL on Fridays and in individual counseling meetings with students and parents.

    Scholarships:

Did you know that you can start applying for college scholarships right now? View the "scholarships" tab on the left to visit links to nationwide scholarship search engines to begin searching for applicable scholarships today. We also suggest following these organizations on Twitter to get the most up-to-date scholarship opportunities.
