Scott Polland

Join us as we meet Dr. Scott Poland, a pioneer in school crisis and the author or co-author of five nationally best selling books on raising resilient youth. Poland has led multiple crisis teams after school shootings and currently is a psychology professor and the Co-Director of the Suicide and Violence Prevention Office at Nova Southeastern University. He was previously the President of the National Association of School Psychologists and is a past Prevention Division Director for the American Association of Suicidology.

His presentation focuses on recognizing and understanding the social and emotional needs of your child, knowing the signs of depression and possible self-harm and learning what you can do as a parent to help your child.

Kathy O'Keefe is the founder of the Dallas area's Winning the Fight. She is a thought leader and an expert of recognizing the signs of drug and alcohol use in children and teens.

Her presentation focuses on educating parents and youth about drug use, current drug trends, and what communities can do to help their youth make informed decisions.
