Overview

Voters in Midlothian ISD approved the November 9, 2016 bond package with 58 percent voting in favor of the referendum. The 2016 bond package is providing new schools to manage our growth, renovations to existing schools, basic maintenance and capital upgrades, and up-to-date technology and security.

Below are more details about the $268 million bond package:

  • Growth Management Projects - $208 million
  • Construction of New JR Irvin Elementary School (Rebuild)
  • Construction of Elementary School #8
  • Construction of Middle School #3
  • Additions to Heritage High School
  • Renovations and/or repurposing of existing facilities
  • Upgrades including 21st Century learning spaces at all campuses
  •  Technology, Security & Capital Needs - $22 million
  • Classroom technology that enhances learning

Technology infrastructure & upgrades

  • Student & staff security improvements
  • Mechanical equipment replacements
  • Roof replacements
  • Athletics & Sports Fields Renovations - $38 million

Construction of Midlothian High School Fieldhouse

  • Renovation of middle school competition fields
  • Addition of offices at Multi-Purpose Stadium
  • Repurpose of Don Floyd Stadium
