At the June 13 Board meeting, Midlothian ISD's Board of Trustees unanimously approved Eric Edwards as the new Head Coach of Midlothian Heritage High School's football program. Coach Edwards currently serves as the Defensive Coordinator at Midlothian Heritage High School and was Varsity Inside Linebackers coach at Midlothian High School prior to that. Coach Edwards has been part of the Midlothian ISD family since 2012.
"We are thrilled that Coach Edwards will lead the Midlothian Heritage High School football program," Dr. Jo Ann Fey, Superintendent of Schools, said. "He has positively impacted Midlothian ISD for a decade, and I am confident that legacy will continue."
During his time with Heritage High School, Coach Edwards served as the Defensive Coordinator for six seasons earning four district championships and coaching 14 playoff games. He also served as the Head Track Coach, where he also won four district championships. He achieved these great successes while teaching Math and focusing on building positive relationships with students.
"My family and I are extremely excited about this opportunity to continue to impact and serve the Midlothian community," commented Coach Eric Edwards. "We love so much about Heritage and the people here in Midlothian. We are fired up to build on the success we have had at Heritage, but more so to continue to invest in the lives of the young men and women here in Midlothian! Go Jags!"
