MISD Board Approves Longbranch Elementary Principal and District Leadership Positions

At the April 24 Board meeting, Midlothian ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved Hollye Walker as the principal of Longbranch Elementary, Kalee McMullen as the Executive Director of Leadership Development, and Mendy Autry as the Director of Compliance and Accountability.  

“Midlothian ISD is committed to student and staff growth,” Dr. Jo Ann Fey, Superintendent of Schools, said. “I am thrilled to welcome every one of these current MISD employees to their new roles in MISD as we continue to strive to inspire excellence and leadership across the district.”

Hollye Walker has been the principal of J.A. Vitovsky Elementary for seven years and has served her students and staff selflessly. Mrs. Walker carries with her to Longbranch Elementary a strong commitment to caring for and serving her students, their families, and her staff. She is an outstanding leader who is passionate about student success. 

“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve another campus in our district,” commented Hollye Walker. “I look forward to carrying on the traditions to lead with love and learn with passion at Longbranch Elementary.”

Kalee McMullen has led Midlothian High School as the principal for two years. She is an effective leader dedicated to mentoring, driving professional growth and leading through change. Before coming to MISD, Dr. McMullen was the Principal of Kerr Middle School in Burleson ISD and served as an Academic Associate Principal and an Assistant Principal in Mansfield ISD. She brings ten years of leadership experience to this role. She earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She obtained her Doctorate of Education at Liberty University. 

Dr. McMullen will now have the opportunity to coach and develop leaders within MISD in her new role as the Executive Director of Leadership Development. “I am humbled and thrilled to be named the Executive Director of Leadership Development for Midlothian ISD,” remarked Dr. McMullen. “While it's difficult to leave my current role at Midlothian High School, I am excited about the opportunity to work directly with our campus leaders across the district as we continue to educate and empower students to maximize their potential.” 

For eight years, Mendy Autry has served MISD as the Lead Librarian and Media Specialist. Before coming to MISD, she was the Coordinator of Academic Enrichment and the Technology Coordinator at Duncanville ISD for 13 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and her master’s degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

“As educators, we have moral and legal obligations to ensure that the needs of all students are met. I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with our schools to meet these needs,” commented Mendy Autry. “MISD has a history of inspiring excellence, and I look forward to working with our many programs throughout the district to continue the great work that is being done.”
