Midlothian ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved Dr. Kalee McMullen as Midlothian High School principal. Currently, McMullen serves as the principal of Kerr Middle School in Burleson ISD.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. McMullen to our MISD family,” Dr. Courtney Carpenter, Interim Superintendent of Schools, said. “We are confident she will continue leading this campus forward and providing an environment where each student and staff member will feel valued and able to grow.”
McMullen has served as a leader in public school education since 2013 when she joined Carter Junior High in Arlington ISD as an assistant principal. She later served as an assistant principal for Mansfield High School and Mansfield ISD’s Summit High School as the academic associate principal. She currently serves as the principal for Kerr Middle School in Burleson ISD.
“I am excited and honored to join the Midlothian ISD family because of the stellar reputation MISD has for inspiring excellence and working together to build a strong future,” McMullen said. “MISD's cultural tenants exemplify who I strive to be as a leader and educator, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to join the Midlothian community. I bring to Midlothian High School a leadership outlook centered around serving others, building community, and ensuring our students maximize their potential. I hope everyone at MHS feels like they belong and are supported in the pursuit of their goals. I am excited to be a Midlothian Panther!”
Dr. McMullen earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and her master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. She completed her Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Liberty University. She holds State Board of Education certifications in superintendency, principalship, English Language Arts & Reading, and physical education.
