Meet the Superintendent

Dr. Jo Ann Fey joined Midlothian ISD as Superintendent of Schools in June 2021. Her entire career as a teacher, coach, principal and administrator has focused on student connections and student success. Whether the future is a traditional university, a trade school, the workforce or the military, Dr. Fey’s passion is to ensure that every student that leaves MISD is prepared to succeed.

Dr. Fey values the need for a well-rounded education and understands the importance of finding academic, co-curricular and extracurricular balance in a student’s life. In the short time she has been in MISD, she has overseen the establishment of a JROTC program at Midlothian High School and the opening of an elementary campus, while planning for the future in our fast-growth district.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Methodist University where she was a five-time All American athlete. She also earned a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Baptist University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Prior to MISD, Dr. Fey spent 26 years serving the students of Southwest ISD near San Antonio.

Dr. Fey’s husband is a civil engineer, and they have three children. Their son is currently teaching in Southwest ISD. Their oldest daughter, who was her high school’s class valedictorian and a state champion in track and field, is a student athlete at Rice University. Their youngest daughter is a junior at Midlothian High School and is currently a two-time defending state champion in track and field.
