Degrees and Certifications
Bachelor Degree in Elementary Classroom with a Minor in Music from Oklahoma Baptist University
Masters Degree in  Diagnostic Reading from NTSU.

Even though I initially taught elementary classroom for 5 years, I soon found that teaching music and directing choir were my real passion. As a youth, I was blessed to be in many performing choral groups and then in college, a USO Tour group. Most rewarding across my years of teaching music and directing choirs has been awakening the JOY of MUSIC within children, as it was within me by caring teachers. Likewise, fostering the researched connection between music and reading, as well as math, has been especially inspiring to me. For fun, I enjoy yard work, water sports, and my dog Banjo and cat Marty.

I began my music teaching career in Midlothian in 2008 at Miller Elementary. Eight years and 2 children later I am now teaching again at Longbranch Elementary. I strongly believe when words fail, music speaks. Music has the power to unify and bring us together. It empowers students to be creative, expressing themselves in a fresh, new way. A few of my favorite things are all things Disney, Groot, and lots and lots of coffee. :)I began my music teaching career in Midlothian in 2008 at Miller Elementary.
