Health and Safety Statement: November 28, 2018

  • RE: Romaine Lettuce - E.coli Outbreak 
     
    Parents, Students and Staff -
     
    Aramark and the Midlothian ISD Food Services team would like to assure you that health and safety is our top priority. On November 20, 2018 the CDC released a statement recommending that no one eat romaine lettuce until further notice due to an ongoing investigation of contamination. This statement was released while Midlothian ISD was on Thanksgiving break. Upon return, Aramark disposed of all romaine lettuce across the district as well as disinfected any area in which may have come in contact with the lettuce. Romaine lettuce will no longer be served in any MISD facility until further notification from the CDC. Food safety is a top priority at Aramark and we are continuing to monitor the situation closely with government agencies, our distributors and suppliers.
