Midlothian ISD Names Amanda Rodgers as Middle School #3 Principal
Midlothian ISD names Amanda Rodgers as the Middle School #3 principal, effective summer 2019. This new campus will open to students for the 2020-21 school year. Throughout the past two years, Rodgers has served as a member of the Middle School #3 design team in helping provide the vision of what this school will look like architecturally, as well as the type of collaborative learning to continue the district’s long-standing tradition of inspiring excellence. Because of this unique opportunity to open a school that she has helped design, Rodgers asked to be considered for this position. Currently, Rodgers serves as the principal of T.E. Baxter Elementary.
“Amanda is an incredible, genuine and multi-talented leader,” Dr. Lane Ledbetter, Superintendent of Schools said. “With an extensive kindergarten -- 8th-grade background, she recognizes and values the importance of the pivotal transition between the elementary and secondary experience. She believes deeply in personalized learning and meeting the needs of each and every child.”
While it is an honor to be named Middle School #3’s first principal, it has been an incredible privilege to be a part of the Baxter Elementary School community. I am so grateful to the Baxter family for allowing me to serve their children,” Rodgers said. “I look forward to empowering middle school students to fulfill their dreams and become innovators of tomorrow.”
Rodgers earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies at the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in education administration from Texas Christian University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership at Dallas Baptist University. She came to Midlothian ISD in 2009 to teach English and coach at Midlothian High School. Rodgers later became the physical education teacher at Frank Seale Middle School before transitioning to the campus’ testing coordinator and language arts and math instructional leader and campus liaison. In 2017, she became the assistant principal at T.E. Baxter Elementary and in 2018 transitioned to the campus principal.
