MISD Board Names Shorr Heathcote as Director of Human Resources

Midlothian ISD’s Board of Trustees approved Shorr Heathcote as the new director of human resource services. Currently, Heathcote serves as an assistant principal at Frank Seale Middle School.

“As Midlothian ISD continues to grow and excel, we are committed to providing the best support for our teachers and staff,” Dr. Lane Ledbetter, superintendent of schools, said. “We welcome Ms. Heathcote as she takes over this new role and know she will be a tremendous asset to the human resource team.”

“Midlothian ISD is committed to inspiring excellence, and as the new director of human resource services, I am honored to help inspire excellence among all of our wonderful employees,” Shorr Heathcote said. “I've always believed the best part of being in MISD is that we are a family, which is why I am so excited to help recruit, develop and retain the very best employees as our Midlothian family continues to grow.”

Heathcote earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and her master’s degree in education administration from Lamar University. She began her career in education in Dallas ISD as a fifth-grade reading, language arts and social studies teacher and later as a Talented and Gifted and reading intervention teacher. She served as an assistant principal at L.V. Stockard Middle School in 2015, and she joined Midlothian ISD in 2017 as an assistant principal at Frank Seale Middle School.
