Thank You for Joining us on May 21!

Lunchtime Community Update, yesterday at 12:30 p.m.

Thank you for joining us yesterday at our very first lunchtime community-wide update meeting! We had incredible viewership and we appreciate your feedback. This was our first effort and as with any new initiative, we can always find ways to improve our time together to ensure we are sharing information you find relevant and helpful. Also, we want to answer your questions that are top of mind and heart.

In case you missed our update, here is the link to the recorded and archived update. We did receive several questions and we are in the process of answering them. We will send a document with all of the questions posted along with the answers in the coming days.

Community Conversation, yesterday at 6:30 p.m.

Last night, we had a great community conversation! With more than 10,000 “thought exchanges,” we are excited to see your feedback. Please keep the conversation with your thoughts coming! We are leaving the “thought exchange” forum open through Tuesday, May 26.

If you were unable to join us, watch it here, and then join the conversation! We encourage every parent to provide input and feedback. If you joined, but a neighbor couldn’t make it, encourage them to participate. We have shared this conversation on our Facebook and social media platforms, as well as in this email, so please share with them. Again, our “thought exchange” forum will remain open through Tuesday, May 26.

See you next Thursday, May 28 at 12:30 p.m.

During next week’s community update, we will discuss calendar options for next school year as the Texas Education Agency has asked all Texas school districts to review. While our calendar decision is a local one, we want to hear from you as we prepare for multiple scenarios for next school year related to the COVID-19 outbreak predictions for the fall and winter.

I look forward to our updates and conversations and hope you join us each Thursday. In the meantime, please feel free to email me at
